Are awards a necessary requirement to the photographer you hire? Absolutely not, but I take great pride in creating images the touch your heart, tell a story, have meaning and meet all technical merits. I enter images in competitions for ME! Client work is different, but every time I enter award comps, I learn and I grow and my clients benefit. I am proud of my awards and accomplishments.
Accreditations are a different story. They DO give my clients confidence when hiring me and should be considered. They mean I'm deemed a specialist in that field; creating consistent and technically proficient images over many years. They mean you can depend on me to provide a certain standard of images every time, not just have a few great images amongst a bunch of mediocre ones.
No matter how you look at it, they mean I value what I do and continually challenge myself to learn more.
I will never stop growing and learning!
